Ethiopian Airports
The project, sponsored by the Ethiopian Airports – Ethiopian Airlines Group – envisages the construction of brand new passenger Terminals at the Jinka, Kombolcha, Robe Gode, Nekemte and Dembidolo airports. The current existing main infrastructures are not responding to the actual international level of efficiency, security, environmental and social aspect required for regional airports. This Typological Project can be improved and tailored, by introducing the appropriate changes, to fit each airport site peculiarities: dimensional/functional requirements or related to the specific local and climatological characteristics of each individual location during the preparation of the Executive Design and construction. The concept refers to the Terminal building and its plant & equipment systems. The design assumptions, related to the construction, for materials and plant systems, have been addressed to almost minimize the maintenance activities, through careful use of materials and accurate plant design, developing innovative energy systems and integrated sustainable solutions respectful of the environment and enabling to optimize energy consumption according to actual needs and environmental conditions.
