Treviso Sant’Angelo “Antonio Canova” (LIPH)
Treviso “Antonio Canova” Airport (IATA code: TSF, ICAO code: LIPH) is located close to the worldwide known city of Venice, north east side of Italy. The airport is mainly devoted to host regional flights, low cost scheduled, charter passengers as well as mail freight and parcel flights. A total of 2.3 million passengers have been handled by the airport in 2012.
Scope of the work assigned to TE2C was to upgrade existing AIRSIDE infrastructures and facilities to improve airport operations.
Detailed design concerned the following items:
- Rehabilitation and upgrade of runway paved surface.
- Rehabilitation and upgrade of the runway shoulders.
- Rehabilitation and widening of the Back Track at threshold 07.
- Implementation of Antiblast surface THR25.
- THR25 Runway End Safety Area (RESA) accommodation
- Runway strips, Cleared and Graded Area (CGA)accommodation
- Rehabilitation and upgrade of taxiway paved surface.
- Upgrade of the overrun area and Bliss Back device accommodation.
- New Airfield Ground Lighting systems (AGL) and Visual Aids for navigation
- Improved airport weather observation system (AWOS).
- Improved drainage system to collect storm water runoff from the pavement surface
Preliminary and detailed design have been duly approved by ENAC the Italian Civil Aviation Authority.
Construction works have been carried out during the year 2011, they lasted for about six months and flights scheduled to Treviso have been temporarily diverted to Venice airport till rehabilitation works have been fully accomplished.
